Who we are
InkedUp is operated by InkedUp Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland. Our registered address is 12 Bedford Street, Belfast, BT2 7FD. When this policy refers to "InkedUp", "we", "us" or "our", it means InkedUp Ltd.
We operate the platform at inkedup.io, which connects clients with tattoo artists across Northern Ireland. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@inkedup.io.
What data we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you use InkedUp:
- Name and email address when you register an account
- Profile information including location, tattoo preferences, and style interests
- Booking details including appointment dates, artist selections, and placement information
- Payment information, processed securely via Stripe — we do not store card details
- Communications between you and artists through our messaging system
We also collect data automatically when you use the platform:
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Pages visited and actions taken on the platform
- Approximate location (city-level) to show nearby artists
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie section below)
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Provide and improve the InkedUp platform and services
- Process and manage your bookings with tattoo artists
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and aftercare information
- Personalise artist recommendations based on your style preferences
- Respond to your support requests and queries
- Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the platform
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Tattoo artists on the platform, to the extent needed to fulfil your booking
- Stripe, our payment processor, for secure payment handling
- Supabase, our database provider, for data storage
- Analytics tools we use to understand how the platform is used (in anonymised form)
- Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law
How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (for example, financial records must be kept for 7 years under UK law).
Booking history is retained for 2 years after the booking date to allow for dispute resolution and to help you access your tattoo records.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to how we process your data
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing

Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how the platform is used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect some platform features.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Continued use of InkedUp after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
